Great Taste Awards 2018 – winners
We are immensley excited and ever so proud to have scooped three prestigious awards in the Great Taste Awards 2018.
Three of our handmade products won stars which is a fantastic accolade.
Large steak pie
Our large steak pies have received an award of two stars this year, which is a fantastic achievement! Made to our own recipe in our bakery at Rosehill, these pies are indeed worthy award winners.
Steak Pie
Judges said: ““A very good looking pie, with a handmade look and nice simple decoration. The chunks of meat are generous and really perfectly cooked, the filling and gravy has great depth of flavour …”
Cumberland Sausage
While our traditional Cumberland sausage received one star, with judges saying: “A juicy succulent looking sausage which has a wonderful texture with a really satisfying, comforting feel. The flavour is meaty and the seasoning just right. A really great example of a traditional sausage …”
Pork & Apple Lattice Pie
The third product to receive a star is our handmade pork & apple lattice pie. Judges gave this product high praise. “The golden pastry and neat lattice caught the judges’ attention and the pie is very generously filled, with an enjoyable jelly sat alongside thin pastry. Good meaty flavour and sweetness from the apple juice … The cinnamon flavour is subtle which is good.”
