The official launch of our new foodstore
On Wednesday 19th June we held an exciting launch event to celebrate the official opening of our new foodstore.
Held at our state-of-the-art Rosehill store, the event took place from midday onwards and, luckily, the sun shone the whole day!
The event was open to everyone and we invited some of our key suppliers along to showcase their products. We also had Bespoke Catering set up a barbecue on which they cooked our own meat products. Visitors were tempted by our prawn skewers, Indian chicken, beef burgers, pork & apple burgers and sirloin steak, all served in our freshly baked bread from our bakery. They certainly enjoyed tucking in!
Whitby Scampi visited us with their brightly coloured camper van and offered tasty scampi to all visitors. For most of the afternoon, queues were were to be found at both the BBQ and scampi van.
Many regional suppliers were in-store and were proudly handing out samples and talking about their quality products. We had cheese from Appleby Creamery, ales from Brack ‘n’ Brew, ice cream from Steven Darvill at the Handmade Ice Cream Co, cakes and slices from Traybakes and much, much more.
All of our suppliers and staff had an incredibly busy day with the shop seeing its highest number of visitors to date.

We had many special on-the-day discount offers available and the store was busy with shoppers taking advantage of the amazing deals.
Our grab & go coffee was selling for just £1 a cup and all donations were given to Eden Valley Hospice. We had hospice volunteers on hand selling raffle tickets to win a car. We are hoping one of our visitors is the lucky winner.
Evening drinks reception
Later in the day we held an evening drinks reception, inviting along business owners and employees from Rosehill Estate, employees and key friends and supporters of Pioneer. Prosecco, orange juice, ale and canapés were served to welcome visitors well into the evening, as well as our BBQ food too.
What can you expect in our new foodstore?
The foodstore opened its doors to our first customers on Monday 1st April and we have seen visitors and sales growth steadily increase. Our new store offers a fantastic and wide ranging product range; including, Bruce & Luke’s grab & go coffee, an orange juicing machine to enjoy your own freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fish, extended ranges of fresh meat products plus much more.

The cake …
A cake was specially commissioned to celebrate the event from the Cake Fairy Boutique based in Annan. It featured not only our branding, but a butcher, baker and some of the products featured in-store.
Our launch cake was cut the following day by Dougie Middlemass, retail manager and Graham. It was on offer for customers for treat themselves to a slice in return for a small donation to the Great North Air Ambulance.
